Skills Required
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., debits/credits, accruals)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, sorting, pivot tables)
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
- Comfortable using general office software (e.g., Word, Outlook)
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Key Responsibilities Knowledge
- Recording daily financial transactions
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements
- Assisting in payroll preparation and processing
- Maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business administration (preferred)
- Certification such as Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) from CPB Canada or QuickBooks Certification (a plus)
Experience
- 0–2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or clerical experience (entry-level)
- Internship or part-time experience in accounting is beneficial
